Sherlock Holmes (2009)
I consider myself someone who believes that the most important things lie in the smallest details. For Sherlock Holmes, noticing the smallest of details is his livelihood. (And he’s a million times better at it than I could ever be.) Sherlock Holmes is based on a character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The movie (just like the books) paint this picture that Holmes is an extremely hyperactive, pompous, and loquacious man who is not shy about flaunting his genius to everyone around him.
The movie had an all-star cast who did an amazing job in bringing these characters to life. Downey Jr.’s British accent was flawless and the overall dialogue was hilarious especially when it came to Holmes showing how much of a smart-ass he was. The action scenes and stunts looked amazing and I especially thought it was interesting seeing how Holmes would break down how he would disable opponents down to the most minute detail of his attacks and counter attacks with these internal monologues and would even include the amount of time the injury would keep them incapacitated, (both physically and psychologically.)
Sherlock Holmes was extremely entertaining that had a bit of everything: action, comedy, suspense, drama. Especially if you’re a Robert Downey Jr. fan or a fan of Guy Ritchie’s work, (Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Smoking Aces) go see this movie.
