Super Street Fighter IV

If you were a kid who played video games in the 1990’s, you know all about the Street Fighter video game franchise.  Street Fighter is arguably one of the best Arcade Fighters and one of the first to get mass produced for home consoles.  Over the years, the game has gone through so many makeovers and variations that have been mostly unanimously embraced by gamers.  Street Fighter II was the first game to make it to the home consoles and it was revolutionary for its time.  The game did play very slow, however, but at the time we had no idea just how slow it was… then Street Fighter II Turbo came out where you could adjust speed settings of overall gameplay and included four new playable characters (Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison.)  But I digress just a bit…Super Street Fighter IV released only months after Street Fighter IV and before you go screaming to the heavens that it’s just another way for the developers to get more money out of the customers, (because that’s what I wanted to do when I heard about it also) hear me out.  Yes, the game does have two brand new playable characters to the series as well as a handful of new players extracted from the Alpha and Third Strike Series with a total of 35 playable characters right out of the box, but also because of the beauty of the 21st century, fans and players were able to give their two cents, their input, and their suggestions directly to the programmers and guess what…?  The programmers listened!  Brand new Ultra Combos, costumes, menus, training simulations, the return of the Bonus Stages, and overall online playability have made this game the most improved in regards to overall new content from one game to the next.

And the game sells for a reasonable $39.99.  For those of you who bought Street Fighter IV, we haven’t forgotten about you.  Free updates are available on X Box Live with new content to celebrate and reward your loyalty to the franchise.  Super Street Fighter IV is probably going to be the best Arcade Fighter of the year and in my opinion, one of the best Arcade Fighters for the consoles in the last ten years.  Stand by for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 next year…
