My First Film Festival Submission
Next March will be the 29th annual Miami Film Festival. My aunts go every year and always tell me about the films they saw and have always encouraged me to try to submit a film to the festival but they don’t seem to understand that it’s not that easy. These things obviously take an immense amount of time, resources, and money. As of now, I’m missing two of the three and the two I’m missing are the ones that matter the most.
Anyway, one of my aunts sent me an email for the film festival which will be held on March 2-11 of next year and included a Master Class Consultation with a professional screenwriter. I submitted my first act of my romantic comedy script entitled “A Thousand Words” for consideration. For obvious reasons, I won’t reveal too many details about the script. This will be a real test of my skills because only five scripts will be selected. So if I am selected, this would be a little more validation of my skills, right? Here’s hoping…
I will post an update whenever I receive one. So far all I’ve received is a confirmation and thank you email from the judge.
